Rabab Zaitoun was born to a Christian family near the Wedding Church in Cana of Galilee. She grew up in a Franciscan environment as she was surrounded by Franciscan priests and nuns all the time. In her family there were five Franciscan vocations (two priests and three nuns). She went to the Franciscan Sisters School in Cana where later on she became an English teacher. Today she teaches at Terra Santa College, another Franciscan school in Nazareth. She is a very active member at her Latin parish in Cana. She joined the parish choir at the age of five and she is still faithful to this call up to this day as she is the organist and the director of her parish choir. She takes part in looking after the children and youth of the parish. She prepares the children for their first communion and the sacrament of confirmation. She also takes part in preparing decorations for the different occasions at the church. Ever since she was a child, she was always charmed and taken by music. Her family was aware of this attraction and the hidden talent she had inside. With plenty of love and dedication, they did their best to nourish the seed she had inside and help her develop and express her talent. This spiritual and supporting environment were the perfect fertile land for Rabab’s seeds to grow and give fruit. Her happiest moments are the ones she spends in the world of music especially when she sings or composes. |
